Katayef With Chicken Livers And Red Capsicum

Qatayef are "Arabic pancakes".It is usually filled with sweet cheese or nuts and then fried or baked. But have you tried it as a side dish with chicken liver? Find our recipe of Katayef with chicken livers and red capsicum!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes approximately
Cooking Time: 30 minutes approximately
Serves: 4-6 persons

All you need

1 kg medium-sized Katayef
1 kg chicken liver washed and cut to slices
2 sweet Capsicum diced
1 onion chopped
2 tbsps. al alali Parsley Flakes
1/2 tsp. al alali Ground White Pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Salt to taste

Directions

  • In a saucepan, heat vegetable oil, add chopped onion and diced red capsicum, stir until firmly cooked
  • Add chopped chicken livers, salt, al alali Parsley Flakes , al alali Ground White Pepper, mix, cover the pot, simmer until cooked. Set aside to cool
  • Start filling the Katayef with the filling, make sure to close the Katayef properly
  • In a frying pan, deep fry the stuffed Katayef until golden brown
  • Serve with green salad and enjoy!
Cooking Tip: You must use the Katayef on the same day you buy them, so they wont crack during filling
