Kibbeh Nayeh (Raw Kibbeh) – Lebanese Style
Kibbeh Nayeh is a traditional Lebanese dish made with raw beef and served with pita bread on special occasions. Simple, flavorful, and absolutely delicious! 😋
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 cup Bulgur Wheat (Red Bulgur preferred, any kind works) 🌾
- 1 cup Water 💧
- 1 lb Lean Beef, cubed (top round or completely fat-free) 🥩
- 1 Small Red Pepper, cut into quarters 🌶️
- 1 ½ tsp Salt 🧂
- 1 Small Sweet Onion, cut into quarters 🧅
- 10 Basil Leaves 🌿
- 10 Mint Leaves 🌱
- ¼ cup Kamouneh Spice Blend (Kibbeh Seasoning) 🥄
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Place 1 cup Bulgur Wheat in a small bowl and add 1 cup Water. Let soak for 15 minutes until water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.
2️⃣ Put 1 lb cubed beef, 1 small red pepper, and 1 ½ tsp Salt in a food processor. Blend for 2–5 minutes until meat is fully broken down.
3️⃣ Transfer meat to a covered bowl and refrigerate. ❄️
4️⃣ In the food processor, add soaked bulgur, 1 small sweet onion, 10 basil leaves, 10 mint leaves, and ¼ cup spice blend. Blend until fully combined.
5️⃣ Remove meat from fridge and combine with the bulgur mixture. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and evenly mixed. 🤲
6️⃣ Spread Kibbeh Nayeh thinly on a serving dish. Use fingers or a spoon to create decorative patterns on top.
7️⃣ Drizzle with olive oil and serve with pita bread. Enjoy! 🫓💛
