Baklava-Style Filo Rolls with Nuts and Honey (Goulash)


Crispy on the outside, soft and syrupy inside… and the taste? Absolutely amazing 😍💛

Original recipe by Chef Ahmed AlQadi 👨‍🍳

Ingredients (in grams):

1 pack filo pastry (500 g)

150 g melted butter

200 g mixed nuts (walnuts – pistachios – peanuts – almonds)

100 g powdered sugar

1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

🍯 For the syrup:

300 g sugar

200 ml water

A squeeze of lemon

Vanilla or a splash of orange blossom water

🔥 Instructions:
1️⃣ Mix the nuts with powdered sugar and cinnamon to prepare the filling.
2️⃣ Melt the butter and lightly grease your baking tray.
3️⃣ Layer half of the filo sheets, brushing each sheet with butter.
4️⃣ Spread the nut mixture evenly in the center.
5️⃣ Cover with the remaining filo sheets, brushing each layer with butter.
6️⃣ Cut into squares or diamond shapes before baking.
7️⃣ Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until golden and crispy.
8️⃣ Pour cold syrup over the hot baklava immediately after removing it from the oven.
