No-Oven Kunafa Recipe
Ingredients:
250g shredded kunafa dough
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp sugar
For the cream filling:
100g butter or ghee
5 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 liter milk
Sugar (to taste)
Vanilla
Method:
• Toasting the Kunafa:
In a pan over medium heat, add the kunafa, butter, and sugar.
Stir continuously until it turns a beautiful golden color.
Remove from heat and let it cool in a plate.
• Preparing the Cream:
In a pot, melt the butter or ghee.
Add the flour and toast it lightly.
Pour in the milk, add sugar and vanilla, and keep stirring until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble.
• Assembling:
In a serving dish or tray, press half of the toasted kunafa firmly at the bottom.
Pour the cream mixture on top.
Cover with the remaining kunafa layer.
Refrigerate for 1 hour until it sets… or enjoy it warm!
